yam containing a natural phytoestrogen which may stimulate the ovaries to release an egg from each side. (Wikipedia). Twins are called Ibeji in Yoruba, Ejima in Ibo, Tagwaye in Hausa, Jaure in Punjabi.
Twins are important most especially in Africa where they are highly revered and there are lots of mysteries surrounding them or involving them. One of which is that they bring blessing into a house which is why the Yorubas praise them as the children that turn a poverty stricken family to a wealthy one.
Beans is considered a food for the twins as beans is an edible crop that is said to look just like it mother even with it eyeliner which is called “Tiro” among the Yorubas which is why the song ‘epo n be, e wa nbe o’ that is there is palmoil and there is beans.
Twins have spirituality and the mythical at their reach, they are much more closer to the supernatural, world that single birth offsprings, in Yoruba cosmology, their personal god is called “Orisa Ibeji” or god of the twins whom is believed can either bless people or curse them according to what they wish twins, Orisa Ibeji is merciless when it comes to avenging twins which is why it would not be advised to try having an hidden grudge with a twin. Lol

A moment to appreciate these babies Taiwo and Kehinde, my very own sexy slay twins, I have used you guys head to rub my tummy several times, thanks for the silent support and Taiwo I saw the post from Kanzahsays.com you shared on Fb and Twitter o, you were busy sharing my blog up and down even though I do not have you on Fb and cannot see your Fb post, So sweet, Kenny continue to be your big sister self to Taiwo, I could remember you guys would wake up in the morning and check up on each other even though you stay in different rooms. And I can’t forget the day Kehinde poured an argument between you both on my head, twins ehn! You both have helped me in this blog journey… So so inspiring and they said Twins share everything, don’t share one dude o #sideeyes
