Tolu Erogbogbo was contacted to make a wedding cake, that’d be his first. Butter was mixed with sugar, sugar with flour, flavours and everything that make up a cake was added into the mixture. On the day of the wedding, the cake was ready, waiting to be consumed after the traditional ‘cut the cake and feed your spouse’ session. Alas! The cake collapsed before any of that could happen. Imagine the shame and sadness Tolu felt as he walked away from the venue or the taunts and insults that accompanied that incident. Tolu, however, didn’t let that failure get to him, in fact he improved himself and tried to be better than he was the first time. Tolu became Chef Eros, Tolu has made, is making and will make awesome cakes for weddings. Tolu is one of the celebrated Chefs we have in Nigeria, he has fully cemented himself in the food and pastry business with The Cookiejar Bakery.
Tolu never gave up, instead he forged forward. Never let failure deter you, every expert was once a beginner. Every individual you see with immense knowledge in the ways of life was once an idiot. Every individual who has huge wealth of experience has made countless mistakes. Every fashion designer with high end fashion pieces has dumped countless materials in the bin because they got it wrong before they got it right.
Not everyone starts at the top. Everything doesn’t fall into place the first time. This is why you have to keep trying. Be consistent. Never lose your focus. You may be an inch close to making it big but procrastination might draw you back. Keep failing and falling until you hit it!
Have a lovely week!
